14 Jan 2021 RESEARCH. The launch of unique SCAPIS is approaching. SCAPIS is a bank of data, blood samples and bioimages from 30,000 participants

SCAPIS - the Largest Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research Program in Sweden. The Swedish Cardiopulmonary Bioimage Study (SCAPIS) combines the use of new imagine technologies, advances in large-scale 'comics' and epidemiological analyses to extensively characterize a Swedish cohort of 30 000 men and women aged between 50 and 64 years. SCAPIS, Swedish CArdioPulmonary bioImage Study, is a population study around cardiovascular, epidemic and genetic research, initiated by Swedish researchers in 2007.

SCAPIS is designed as a prospective observational study of a randomly selected sample from the general population.

The aim of the Swedish CArdioPulmonary bioImage Study (SCAPIS) is to predict and prevent cardiovascular disease (CVD) and COPD. SCAPIS will recruit and investigate approximately 30,000 men and women aged 50 to 64 years with detailed imaging and functional analyses of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems. The Swedish CArdioPulmonary BioImage Study (SCAPIS) was initiated as a major joint national effort in Sweden to reduce mortality and morbidity from cardiovascular disease (CVD), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and related metabolic disorders, all of … 2020-02-22 CArdioPulmonary bioImage Study (SCAPIS) pilot study, conducted at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Göteborg, Sweden.
